🔍 Shape Detectives

Focus: Shape identification, coloring, counting

Theme: Observation and Basic Counting

Materials:

  • Paper and crayons or markers

  • Optional: Ruler

Instructions:

  1. 👀 Look closely at your surroundings — can you spot triangles, squares, rectangles, circles, or ovals?

  2. ✏️ Draw each shape you find on your paper and color it.

  3. 📏 Measure one item’s length or width using a ruler (or estimate with your fingers!).

  4. 🔢 Count how many of each shape you discovered. Write the number next to your drawing.

  • Which shape was easiest to find? Which was hardest?

  • Did you find any 3D shapes (like boxes or balls)?

  • How do shapes help builders and artists in their work?
